Our Mission, Vision, and Values guide every aspect of our work.

MISSION

Women’s March Network organizes and trains the largest feminist base in the United States toward a feminist future.

VISION

Women’s March is organizing and training a base of feminists to end sexism, sexist exploitation, and oppression. By 2050, we will be a feminist-led movement that ensures anyone and everyone has the freedom to lead empowered lives in safety and security in their bodies, in their communities, and throughout the country.

As bell hooks says: “Feminism is for all of us. Our feminism cannot be achieved without understanding how class, race and gender relate to and shape society, experience and power relations.” To bring about a Feminist Future we must contest unjust power relationships and world views institutionally, interpersonally and inside ourselves. We value the voices, places and priorities of those who have historically been silenced and marginalized by mainstream feminist movements.

  • Our feminism is interdependent, and we hold true to heart what Fannie Lou Hamer meant when she said, “Nobody’s free until everybody’s free.” That means we believe there is an equally important role for everybody to play, whether they just became active or they are seasoned organizers.

  • Our organization welcomes and values all women and feminists, working across race, age, place and all lines of difference. When we say all ‘women’ that means everybody invested in gender justice and putting an end to sexism in all its forms. We want to see women of every race, gender expression, lived experience, sexual orientation, ability, ethnic background, class origin, country of birth, region, immigration status or religion thrive. All of us are responsible for welcoming and bringing more women and feminists into our movements.

  • We know we can’t win alone if we want to win big. With every action, every march, every project and campaign, we seek to advance the vision and shift conditions for all women, for Women’s March and for broader social movements. We combat the pull in society and movements toward ego, elitism and cliques. We are of, with and for the many not the few.

  • We seek big impact, and we believe that our work has to constantly evolve and adapt for us to get there.  We know that this work will also lead to big changes in ourselves, and we will need to be imaginative, curious, and flexible along the way. Feminism is a practice, not a project. We are practitioners, not perfectionists. We are committed to continual learning and growth.

  • This is our time to confront the deepest systemic wounds of our country. There are no easy answers and no quick “feel good" solutions. We’re not interested in nibbling around the edges or accepting symbolic concessions. This is a time for bold, far-reaching, long-term strategizing and organizing. Joining us here means you accept the work immediately ahead of us and the long march to victory.

  • Our work is not easy, and while we value stamina and endurance, we know that we must also cultivate compassion, care and joy.
